WHO IS CHRISTINE PRESLEY?

Although I was born in Marion, Indiana, I would say I grew up in Fremont, Ohio. My dad was a chemical engineer and my mom was a stay at home mom who volunteered at our church as a choir director and worship leader. Church was a significant part of our lives growing up. Every time there was an event, we were there. I was baptized at the age of 5, and although I honestly don't remember, I must have given my heart to Jesus or my mom would never have allowed me to be baptized. Through high school and most of college, I had a very imbalanced relationship with Jesus. And although I intellectually knew God so loved the world (which supposedly included me) and that He gave his one and only Son, I struggled to believe that He was for me, no matter what!! What I know now is that this was because I didn't know how to trust Him or even that he was trustworthy. I believe that on the road traveled, He never left my side, even though I didn't see him or want to see Him (sometimes)....and that the journey of trust is still continuing day by day.

Today I serve professionally as a Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist alongside my husband Rick, with a heart for Partners of Infidelity and Sexual Addiction. We have two adult children who are in college.

HOW DID YOU FIND YOUR PRESENT ROLE AT LIFEPOINTE?

We were invited to LifePointe by some very dear friends, whose family exampled a spiritual depth and connectedness that we longed for. LifePointe has taken me deeper in my spiritual walk than any other environment I have been a part of. The Jesus I'm learning about, and to trust, is not the same as the Jesus I learned about earlier in life.

My passion is to create distraction free environments SO THAT people can connect with the real Jesus and the power (life, trust, belonging, etc.) of Redemption. I am super passionate about this, because often, we only have one opportunity.  We have One Hour on a Sunday (Nancy Beach) to impact lives, to show people that Jesus is trustworthy and He does love them, like them and is in a good mood to them. I am a seer in a sense. I see details and understand how to shift something, whether it is light transitions, a spoken word tweak, lyrics slide errors, or creative moments, etc. I get to walk alongside the Holy Spirit and create something bigger than myself, something that in one moment, can change someone’s life forever. That is why I do this role.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT LIFEPOINTE?

Sundays! I love to Worship together as the Body of Christ. I also love to set a table for new people to experience Jesus. These both can happen on Sunday and I get to have a direct hand in setting this table.

WHAT IS THE BEST ADVICE YOU HAVE EVER BEEN GIVEN?

Trust the process.  It’s not an -ed, but an -ing.

WHAT IS YOUR GO-TO SCRIPTURE VERSE THAT CONTINUES TO SPEAK POWER TO YOUR LIFE?

JOHN 10:10 MSG I am the Gate. Anyone who goes through me will be cared for—will freely go in and out, and find pasture. A thief is only there to steal and kill and destroy. I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MOVIE?

Blind Side, Divergent, and Tommy Boy ... not in any particular order.

WHAT IS A FAVORITE SPIRITUAL OR SELF-HELP BOOK YOU HAVE READ AND WHY?

The God Shaped Brain by Dr. Timothy Jennings.  This book brought together Theology, Neurobiology, and Psychology. It’s all integrated. It’s all important and it all matters. For example, Romans 12:2 (one of my favorite scriptures) says, "but be transformed by the renewing of your mind". Our brains are pliable and changeable, through neuroplasticity. Transformation, by the renewing of your mind, is an actual physiological transformation, and it’s fascinating to me.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE FOOD AND WHERE?

Chili Chicken (med-hot spice) and Spring Rolls at MaiThai

DESCRIBE A PERFECT DAY

My first go to is sitting in the sand watching Rick and the kids laugh and play together and attempt to conquer the ocean's vastness and unpredictability.
